The entire Stolpman Vineyards team spent the evening of May 30th enjoying the vineyard to celebrate La Cuadrilla. On the lawn under the magnificent Oak, we gathered to relax and take in the natural beauty of the vineyard. Of course, we enjoyed plenty of wine together, the fruit of our combined labor.
The day prior, Ruben slaughtered a lamb to slow cook in a vat of Barbacoa soup. Ruben’s wife, Lupe, served everyone bowls with tortillas.
Young 2013 Syrah stood up to the intense flavors of the Mexican stew.
The shadows slipped further across the vine rows and Ruben took a moment to make a toast to the crew in front of their families. The newest members have now made the cut and this party symbolizes their induction into the full-time workforce. They will work alongside our dedicated, veteran staff. We proudly invite our new team members, and their families, into the Stolpman Vineyards family.
At sunset we lit a huge oak trunk in the fire pit just as the Mariachi band began playing.
After a few glasses of wine, Ruben felt the need to augment the Mariachi’s arrangement with his own talent.
Late night tacos continued to flow thanks to Ruben’s older brother Marcos.
After a wonderful night, we sent each Cuadrilla member home with plenty of Cuadrilla and other Stolpman Vineyards wine. This party is only a warm up for the grand end-of-harvest BBQ when we will distribute the Cuadrilla wine’s profits.
