2005 LaCoppa Syrah $22.00
Stolpman Vineyards is known for producing phenomenal Syrahs, and the 2005 La Coppa is our newest addition. The grapes are from a newer planting on the vineyard with distinctive bright fruit and a subtle pepper note. This wine will delight you with a clean, casual mouth feel, making it perfect to enjoy now with pizza, barbeque or just because!! We used Stelvin closures for this wine to preserve the fresh and fruity quality. 1000 cases produced.
2005 Malbec $30.00
Malbec was once a famous Bordeaux grape, and now the National grape of Argentina. The 2005 Stolpman Vineyards Malbec is bursting with blackberry, plum and hibiscus tea on the palate. This dark, full-bodied, inky wine pairs with Peppercorn Steak, or Hearty Mushroom Stew. Unfortunately the Malbec vines have been planted over with Syrah, so when it’s gone, it is gone. Limit- 6 Bottles. 125 cases produced.
2005 Estate Sangiovese $32.00
While Stolpman Vineyards is famous for our Rhone varietals, we have always had a great interest in Sangiovese. With this vintage we sought to create a New World style Sangiovese which maintains the structure and texture of the great wines from Montalcino and Montepulciano regions. The combination of strong fruit from late harvest and an extended barrel aging (30 months) creates a distinct wine. Produced in a true Tuscan style, this wine offers nice solid tannins with a silky fresh mouth feel. Delight in the abundant berry aromas and fresh acidity. 735 cases produced.
2005 Angeli Blanc $50.00
2006 L'Avion $35.00
Stolpman Vineyard’s 12 acres of Roussanne, the primary varietal of this wine, represents a significant portion of the 165 total planted acres in all of California. The proprietary name L’Avion (The Airplane in French) refers to the long narrow stretch of land where the Roussanne is grown, once used as an air strip by local ranchers. The 2006 L’Avion is a blend of 90% Roussanne and 10% Viognier. The wine shows a rich soft mouth feel with flavors of tropical fruit and a bouquet of honeysuckle. Robert Parker of Wine Advocate rated this wine 94 points. 765 cases produced.
2006 Grenâche $28.00
Our 2006 Grenache is the newest addition to the Stolpman Vineyards line up. Grenache is thought to be one of the oldest grape varietals dating back to 1200 BC This 100 % Grenache is full of berries and sass! After 12 months in 225 liter barriques, the wine spent 16 months in 500 liter puncheons to give the wine a luscious mouth feel. The longer elevage also creates a touch of burnt sugar on the nose and finish. Enjoy this wine with paella, or chicken satay. Drink now or cellar for 5 to 7 years.
2006 La Cuadrilla $22.00
2006 Estate Syrah $30.00
The 2006 Estate Grown Syrah is sourced from over a half dozen clones throughout the vineyard which offer different climatic nuances and soil diversity. To enhance the wine’s perfume and “Rhone” character, we blended 15% Grenache. This wine offers lovely notes of huckleberry, plum & cassis. Big bright fruit off the top and a luscious mouth feel make this a definite cellar pick. Enjoy this wine now, or find the patience to lay it down for the next 5 years. Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate rated this wine 93 points. 2,472 cases produced.
2006 Hilltops Syrah $45.00
As our Estate Syrah is a cohesive blend of grapes picked from throughout the vineyard, our Hilltops Syrah originates from distinct blocks- literally on the hilltops. With striking notes of blueberry, honeysuckle and smoke on the nose, our Hilltops has provocative character and silky mouth feel. Enjoy this vintage with a puff pastry baked brie drizzled in a port reduction sauce. For the more patient purchasers of this bottle, lay it down for 7 to 8 years. Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate rated this wine 92 points. 748 cases produced.
2006 LaCroce $60.00
La Croce, Italian for “The Cross,” is a co-fermentation of 50% Syrah and 50% Sangiovese. Named for the crossing of two cultures, Syrah from France and Sangiovese from Italy, this wine is crushed by foot then barrel aged for 20 months. The wine blends the vibrancy, red fruit and tannic strength of Sangiovese with the lush dark fruits of cooler climate Syrah. This wine is a rare blend but very food friendly; try it paired with grilled steaks, roasted lamb or a mature hard cheese. Robert Parker of the Wine Advocate rated this wine 90 points. 575 six-packs produced
2006 Angeli -- Invitation Only Offering! $65.00
2008 Sauvignon Blanc $22.00
Just in time for summer: Our 2008 100 % Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is fermented in the classic Loire fashion with 90% tank-fermentation and 10% barrel-fermentation with indigenous yeast. This sun kissed coloured wine has flavors of lemon, verbena, apricots, and not quite ripe Rainier cherries. The wine was kept on its fermentation lees until bottling to add a creaminess on the mid-palate. Enjoy pool side or with grilled lemon peel shrimp.
